Originally published in 1963 and until recently out-of-print, "Football Scouting Methods" was written by Steve Belichick, father of New England Patriots' coach and three-time Super Bowl winner Bill Belichick.
Bill Belichick's use of these methods led to the 2007 National Football League videotaping controversy, widely dubbed "Spygate."
"Football Scouting Methods" explains the scouting strategies and insights of author Steve Belichick, considered by many to be the ablest football scout of his era. He coached the U.S. Naval Academy football team for 33 years and played for the NFL's Detroit Lions before World War II. A New York Times headline described him as the "Coach Who Wrote the Book on Scouting" and stated that Houston Texans General Manager Charley Casserly described "Football Scouting Methods" as "the best book on scouting he had ever read."
This ebook version is an exact copy of the original 1962 text. The text explains how to scout opponents, recognize and analyze defenses and offenses, self-scout, conduct a post-game analysis, and defines terminology and includes useful worksheet forms.
